Are you planning a trip to beautiful Turin? Whilst I lived in Turin for some years with my Piemontese partner, we obviously never had the need to stay in a hotel there. Now that we are living in Rome (and I’m running tours in Piedmont), and planning our wedding there, we are having to get up-to-speed on the best hotels in Turin stat. There is no shortage of options to choose from, so I’ve put together this ultimate guide to help you (and my own family and friends) find Turin’s best hotels!

What is the best area to stay in Turin?
If you’re staying in Turin for a few days, then I think it makes most sense to stay in the city center. This way, you’re within walking distance to all the major sites and don’t have to worry about hiring a car which can be a little stressful. There are a few other options you can consider that are just a tram ride or short walk from the historical center. Here are my suggestions on the best neighborhoods in Turin:
- Historical center: For convenience sake, this makes the most sense.
- Quadrilatero: The oldest part of Turin, this is my favorite area in town. Lots of historical shops and buildings and you are seconds from the center by foot. There are lots of bars here so evenings can be loud.
- San Salvario: Popular with students and younger crowds, there are tons of ethnic restaurants and bars here too. It’s also right near the lovely Parco Valentino if you’re looking to stretch your legs and a short walk into the center.
- San Donato: My old neighbourhood in Turin! It’s a short tram ride away and a nice idea if you’d like to get a local’s look at Turin.
What is the best hotel in Turin?
In my opinion, the best hotel in Turin is the NH Piazza Carlina. We stay here on our Untold Italy Piedmont tours and it is just the right level of luxe without feeling over the top. The rooms are big and spacious, the buffet breakfast is plentiful, and the location is smack bang in the center (located in a stunning Piazza) but totally quiet during the evening. Oh and did I mention that you can literally view Turin’s landmark Mole Antonelliana from your balcony?! The NH Hotel Turin has two locations, so be careful when booking as the other location is not as ideal (closer to the market). If you have just one night in Turin, definitely book here.
The Best 5 Star Hotels Turin
If you are looking for luxury hotels in Turin, you’ll be pleased to know the city has a few gorgeous options. The three luxury hotels in Turin Italy are all located right in the city center, a short distance from the main Porta Nuova train station and just off one of my favorite streets in town (Via Carlo Alberto). It’s a great area to stay as it offers easy access to all the main things to do in Turin, but is also quiet at nighttime. Here’s the breakdown of 5 star hotels in Turin Italy:
For old world glamour, this is my pick! It’s one of the most popular luxury hotels Turin has to offer and even has a Michelin starred restaurant on-site (Carignano). The rooms are comfy but the vibe is definitely more traditional, old-school Italian than modern.
This is part of the UNA Esperienze chain which offers luxury hotels throughout all of Italy. Whilst it was built back in the 30s, the rooms have all had a modern upgrade and feel really clean and bright compared to Hotel Sitea’s old world glamour. There is a wellness center on-site, so you can pop in for a sneaky massage. You’re on holiday after all!
Last but not least this is my favorite of the Turin luxury hotels on offer. In my opinion, the rooms are the perfect mix between old school glamour and modern comforts. They have gorgeous floor tilings and cosy armchairs with huge beds and luxe furnishings. The location is superb too, making it one of the best hotels in Turin city centre.
Boutique Hotel Turin Italy Options
Prefer something a little arty? Why not try boutique hotels Turin for a little more of a modern take on accommodation. The Boston Hotel Turin is the best pick of art hotels and each room is meant to be like a work of art. I’d vote staying at a suite here as the normal rooms are a little on the basic side. If you want to stay out of the historical center, this is a great option as it’s located in the upmarket Crocetta neighbourhood.
The Best 4 Star Hotels in Turin Italy
When it comes to 4 star accommodation in Turin, my top pick is the NH Hotel in Piazza Carlina as mentioned above. However, there are quite a few other options you might like to consider too including:
- Hotel Turin Palace – be sure not to confuse this with the 5-star Royal Palace Hotel! The rooms are very modern and comfortable and most feature bathtubs as well as a shower. It’s located in the quiet residential Crocetta, but my favorite thing is the rooftop terrace.
- J Hotel Turin – this is specifically for the football lovers, did you know you can stay at Juventus hotel? It’s the best pick if you’re coming to town to watch Juventus play at the stadium as its only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
- Hotel Victoria Turin – traditional luxe in feel, this is a great 4 star option in the historical center. They have a beautiful spa on site too!
Cheap Hotels in Turin Options
Whether you’re looking for 3 star hotels in Turin Italy or simply something a little more budget friendly, you’ll be pleased to know that there are lots of options. This is my top pick:
- Best Western Turin : Be careful as there are a few different Best Westerns in town including some 4 star options. This one is located in San Salvario and a great option for students or those who like to stay in a lively area at nighttime.
Hotels near Turin Airport for an early flight
If you’re looking for hotels near Turin Airport, there’s only really one option, but it’s a good one!
- Jet Hotel Turin– In what is probably the classiest airport hotel ever, this one is set in a former monastery dating back to the 16th century! It’s just a km from Turin Caselle Airport, making it ideal for catching an early morning flight.
